The motion tracked playerpawn always has to start at position 0/0/0. When the game is started with the VR-glasses not in a specific central position, there is an offset between the camera and the player pawn. Turns out it was being caused by a bug that's present in both 3.0.0 and 3.0. I am currently developing a VR-Game in the Unreal Engine which uses motion tracking (Vicon) in game. Thanks to u/V80 below I managed to find the root cause of the issue. I've got to the point where I'm going to be returning the headset to Amazon, I know it's probably a SteamVR bug but it feels as if WMR is treated as a second class citizen when it comes to these kind of issues. Previous posts to this subreddit on this issue seems to suggest this SteamVR option has been broken since the beginning of this year.ĭoes this work for anyone with a WMR headset at the moment, or anyone else with an Odyssey Plus specifically? I've also tried adjusting the available OpenVR Advanced Settings options with no results. This game can be played with keyboard and mouse or a controller, it does not support wand controllers. For the last couple of days I've been trying to get some of my seated games to work correctly, House of the Dying Sun and Ultrawings for example.īoth of these games start with their main menu way below floor level and are pretty much unreadable, even if I manage to start the games they remain unplayable because of this issue.Įverything I've read either suggests reconfiguring your play space from room scale to standing/seated or using the "Reset Seated Position" option from the SteamVR settings menu, niether of which work. VR will also work on Oculus DK2, and Oculus Quest 1 & 2 via a link cable, or other viable method. It will now look like this:Īs the game sees VR as just a "visual" change, you cannot get banned for playing in VR in multiplayer. 39 The latest main-branch update to SteamVR adds a dashboard button which makes it effortless to redefine the ‘forward’ and ‘center’ orientation of your playspace, a simple but useful feature for. The headset’s orientation and position will drift over time and periodically needs to be reset to center you back to your position. Often, in a driving or flight game, you’re supposed to remain in a very specific position, such as the cockpit. If you are having spectators watching you, drag your game window just a little bit and it will open up to a wider, two eyed view, making it easier to see. The first Use-Case that comes to my mind is seated VR. Bind that to a key and you can simply just press it to reset your seated position, it resets to exactly the position you are currently in when pressing it. App: seared experiences: I expect you to die, pokerstars VR. Unreal Engine 5. Options > controls > common > tracker controls > reset tracking position. Try using SteamVR advanced settings - no effect. If you cannot handle the intensity or you are getting motion sick, either take a break or place your headset on your desk, reset the seated position, and play through your monitor. Click on reset seated position in SteamVR menu - see no change. Turn off Nvidia PCSS because shadows will look different in each eye and will cause you eye strain. After that if controllers is turned off overlay will appear on the left or right side at the seated. Turn antialiasing off in settings as this makes weird texture bugs and it doesn't even improve the image at all. You need to reset seated position(if game uses SteamVR seated position, its enough to reset seated position in game, if its not uses SteamVR seated position then you need reset it on the SteamVR Dashboard, like showed in the trailer 2). I highly recommend seated play as this is not a comfortable experience at all, and make sure to reset your seated position.ĭying Light VR can be played with other people, regardless if they are in VR or just on regular desktop, they cannot see you lean however. Just some tips and information for you all:
